Our Mission is simple.
Help our community enjoy our biggest asset, Lake Michigan.
Founded in 1961 as a small club for members to race sunfish, LBYC has grown to also include
recreational sailors, kayakers and paddleboarders.
What We’ve Achieved
Hosted Many National level Regattas
Hosted the womens North Americans in 2002, 2022
Hosted Fleet North Americans
Supply club sunfish that members can sail if they do not have their own
Provide community with regular gatherings such as our famous lobster boil
Provide low cost storage for Sunfish, kayaks amd Paddleboards
